Title: Don’t Let Covid Get you Blue, Plant Blueberries
Location: North Texas, USA
Other Information: Hello All!!
Hope your all virus free and safe. We’re spending more time gardening and securing a backyard to table food system. We planted several peppers, and a wonderful spearmint, as well as blueberries. I really hate plastic containers, but we are re-purposing some soon as seed starters! Not only does spearmint smell wonderful its a natural pest repellent. It also grows well off cuttings, so that will happen when it matures. We used some great aged chicken coop compost (needed the spearmint) as well as crushed shells as supplements. Local soil is clay and horrid to work with, hence containers and commercial soils. Researching ways to better amend.
In addition, added some photos of our next goals: seed starters in take out trays, and hanging bottle planters. Also included some shots of baby strawberries, tomatoes, and spinach from the early plantings of the month.
Thanks for following along on our journey.
