Other Information: The time has come to start our new reforestation project. We are targeting a surface of 1.5 ha (3.7 acres) to be planted with 2600 oaks (quercus robur) and 1600 ash (fraxinus excelsior).
We managed to plant 200 oaks in the first session and hopefully until the end of april we will finish. Our volunteers will be rewarded with a spade, gloves and Seeds currency.By: Sorin

Title: Clean Up Australia Day!

Other Information: This month I attended ‘Clean Up Australia Day’. Not that we should only dedicate a single day of the year to clean up the mess we’ve made, hence why I used the day to put an emphasis on #CleanUpEveryDay, you can check out my email that went out to my subscribers here and the web page that I put up here. I also used the event to inform the other clean up volunteers of EverGreenCoin. See attached some photos from the day, I managed to clean up 3 large bags of rubbish including a mixture of my least favourite things: expandable polystyrene, plastic bottles, food packaging, cigarette butts, McDonald’s cups (now with paper straws!) still with plastic lids… lol. There was also plenty of recyclable glass bottles and aluminium cans.

Title: Growing Chia from seeds.

Other Information: I thought it would be cool to grow a chia plant for my garden my first attempt by putting chia seeds in a small open container wasn’t so successful so a couple of days later I put some chia seeds in a bowl of water and let it soak for a few hours to soak in the water and expand I decided to put the seeds on top of the soil to see what would happen and a few days latter they sprouted. This picture is from earlier today the last few days of rain seemed to help.

Other Information: I built an area for compost out of salvaged bricks, i will be building a second one and making them look much nicer at some point soon. There are different ways to compost and this will be a dry compost area and will capture more carbon and produce less methane than wet or anaerobic methods and is done simply by keeping the compost area dry.
